My Bio

NICHE:LEGO Superheroes, LEGO Polybags, LEGO Video Games

Hello, I'm David. I have loved LEGO ever since I was 2-3 and still love it till now,(I'm 13) but i did experience my Dark Age (more on that later). Right now I participate in PhLUG, the only recognized Philippine LEGO Users Group by LEGO. (Woot woot!)

When i was 2 years old, me and my family temporarily lived in Japan. My brother, who is older than me, loved LEGO, and we would often go and look around Osaka for LEGO. The set i remember i loved so much was from the Knight's Kingdom 2 theme, 8876 Scorpion Prison Cave

I also remember having plenty of the NBA sets, and even the older adventurers sets. One experience I really loved in Japan was the LEGO scoop. There was this BIG table, full of LEGO and you pay around 1000 yen (if i remember) for a scoop. I don't know if that was expensive or cheap, but i did get a lot of parts from there that i still use until now.

Studying in an International School, they had LEGO in almost every room, so that helped me develop my love for LEGO. Other kids would even fight with me as everyday, i would get the Darth Vader minifig and hide it in a cabinet, so when its playtime, I'm the only one who know where it is (diabolical laugh here).

3-4 years later, when i was 6, we went back to the Philippines, thankfully, my parents brought all the LEGO with us. But being a LEGO fan here was harder than in Japan, prices were extravagant (usually x1.5-3 of US price). My craving for LEGO was only satisfied by the LEGOs my dad buys when he goes out of the country. And because of these hard times, my Dark Age was coming...

Although my LEGO collection never left my room, I lost interest playing with them, as i thought it was time consuming, and i had more important stuff to do, not realizing that LEGO would later on change my life for the better. For 2 years, I lost interest, 2 years, i regret.

But this is why i love theBrickBlogger, on March of 2009 ( i think), I searched online for LEGO, i did not know why... But this search led me to a great discovery, this blog.

TheBrickBlogger put me back on the right track. I loved LEGO again, I once again played with my collection that was collecting dust already. And as i grew more and more in love with LEGO, there were a couple of blogs i visited everyday just to keep up with the news ( (which is now gone:( ),,,, and

And as time passed by, I searched for the Philippine LEGO community, i needed. And i found Philippine Bricksters on Multiply, but after seeing the age restrictions, i was discouraged. I think it was Christmas of 09, when i saw this huge LEGO christmas display in SM North Edsa (its a mall here) and I saw that there was still hope, people still loved LEGO. But i intentionally forgot about the Phil. bricksters as i couldn't join anyway. But this did not stop me from loving LEGO.

On May of 2013, i was scrolling through Facebook, and i randomly searched Philippines LEGO, which led me to PhLUG, which contributed a lot to my hobby right now.

I've been posting on theBrickBlogger for awhile now, and hope i would continue writing here. Its a joy to see the community like and appreciate my posts. Thanks everyone!

Here goes a so unoriginal fact thing, the other contributors are doing (this is in random order)

-I'm allergic to those fluffy stuffed animals.
-I love to act.
-My brother wanted to name me Goliath, how ironic :D
-I like to whistle.
-At this point, i'm running out of facts.
-I won our school pageant once by singing "numa-numa"
-I can get along with anyone if i put my mind into it.
-When someone would ask me what i want to be when i grow up, i always answer: "I'm not sure yet."
-I used to speak Japanese, but Chinese has then replaced it.
-I represented the Philippines in the LEGO build your world event in Legoland Malaysia.
-I don't have anything else to say anymore...

The New LEGO Batgirl Minifigure!

Looks like LEGO factories are full of security holes. General Cryptor minifigures from the 2014 LEGO Ninjago line have been showing up on eBay in the past week or so (likely escapes from the LEGO factory in Mexico), and now another interesting minifigure leaked; Batgirl from the upcoming 2014 LEGO Super Heroes DC Universe series, shared by BrickLink member votvic from the Czech Republic (another place LEGO has a large factory).  LEGO needs to improve their security!
LEGO Batgirl Minifigure Details
Here is a picture of the LEGO Batgirl minifigure. As you can see she got a unique headpiece, which shows her hair flowing out of her mask. She comes with a double sided head (as usual), and her torso is printed both on the front and back. Her legs are plain black (quite disappointing). Her cape appears to be missing too. This version of Batgirl is obviously based on the new 52 Batgirl from DC Comics, as she looks exactly like on the cover of the comic-book.
LEGO Batgirl Minifigure
It’s about time LEGO made an official minifig of Batgirl! She was actually released as a microfigure in the #50003 Batman game from the LEGO Games series, but the game was later canceled. She also appears in theLEGO Batman video-games. In LEGO Batman 2 she is fairly close to the new minifigure version.
LEGO Batgirl Minifigs
Batgirl will most likely appear in the #76013 LEGO Super Heroes Joker Steam Roller set scheduled to be released next year. For your reference here is the list of LEGO Super Heroes DC sets coming in 2014 as we discussed in 2014 LEGO Sets News & Rumors…
  • #76010 LEGO Super Heroes The Penguin Face Off (with Batman, the Penguin, and  2 Robot Penguin Henchmen)
  • #76011 LEGO Super Heroes Man-Bat Attack (with Batman, Robin, and Man-Bat)
  • #76012 LEGO Super Heroes The Riddler Chase (with Batman, the Riddler, and the Flash)
  • #76013 LEGO Super Heroes The Joker Steam Roller (with Batman, the Joker, and 3 other minifigs)
So, what do you think of the new LEGO Batgirl minifigure? Do you like her new headpiece and printing? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below! And for currently available LEGO DC Super Heroessets check out the Online LEGO Shop.

2013 LEGO polybag for your collection!

This was orginally posted by me on theBrickBlogger:
Today I would like to show you all the small 2013 LEGO polybag sets, thanks to Flickr member motayan, who posted the pictures. Some of these are released already, and some will be available a bit later in the year. :P
 2013 LEGO Seasonal Polybags:  There are a couple of polybags for this spring. The #4002 LEGO Springtime Scene contains a tree, fountain, a boy and girl (if we would have a cheesy smiley it would go here), some fences and foliage. Overall a cute little set, especially if you would give it to a special someone. The #40053 LEGO Easter Bunny with Basket is going to be available for Easter - obviously.  The Easter Bunny is not the cutest LEGO ever made, but it is a nice little set for some fun building.

 2013 LEGO Lone Ranger Polybags: You already heard about the LEGO Lone Ranger sets coming, right? (You can read about them here: 2013 LEGO Lone Ranger Sets Pictures!) Besides the sets there are also going to be a couple of polybags. The #30260 LEGO Lone Ranger’s Pump Car is going to be very useful for LEGO Western building, and it also includes the Lone Ranger himself with his awesome new gun. The #30261 LEGO Lone Ranger Tonto’s Campfire includes Tonto! Have you seen his hairpiece?! EPIC! Also comes with a campfire and a chicken-leg.

 2013 LEGO Super Heroes Polybag: Only one polybag for Super Heroes, the #30167 LEGO Super Heroes Iron Man vs. Fighting Drone. This would be the cheapest way to get Iron Man, and if you love flick-fire missiles and tiny drones, this is the polybag to get!

 2013 LEGO Legends of Chima Polybags: As you probably already know from the previous posts here, LEGO is pulling out all stops as far as advertising the new LEGO Legends of Chima theme. Besides the regular sets and Speedorz game-sets there are also 6 polybags, each of them including the new CHI piece. The #30250 LEGO Legends of Chima Ewar’s Acro-Fighterset is a cute little build – get this polybag if you want Ewar. The #30251 LEGO Legends of Chima Winzar’s Pack-Patrol includes Winzar the Wolf and a little sled for him to ride. The #30252 LEGO Legends of Chima Crug’s Swamp-Jet includes the only brown Crocodile and a small boat. The #30253 LEGO Legends of Chima Leonidas’ Jungle-Dragster includes one of the main Lion characters and also some nice light-orange parts. The #30254 LEGO Legends of Chima Razcal’s Double-Crosser – I love how awesome the Ravens are, but I don’t quite get why Razcal has to drive a vehicle when he has wing. But I guess that’s why it’s called the Double-Crosser. The #30255 LEGO Legends of Chima Crawley set is the smallest of the Chima polybags and includes Crawley, a CHI piece, and his cool brick-built gun.

 2013 LEGO Creator Polybags: The #30183 LEGO Creator Little Carcomes with a cute little car for racing down the hallway. The #30184 LEGO Creator Little Helicopter is great for swooshing around. The #30185 LEGO Creator Little Eagle is my favorite LEGO Creator polybag. It looks exactly like his bigger brother in the #31004 LEGO Creator Fierce Flyer set.

 2013 LEGO Friends Polybags: The #30106 LEGO Friends Ice Cream Stand comes with Emma, a new ice-cream cone piece and a sweet little ice-cream stand. The #30107 LEGO Friends Birthday Party – I can’t believe this is a birthday party; there is only Andrea all by herself and one gift!  How can this be a party without at least one another person?! The balloons are nice though. The #30108 LEGO Friends Summer Picnic comes with Mia chilling out on her blanket with a bunch of food.

 2013 LEGO Star Wars Polybags: The #30240 LEGO Star Wars Z-95Headhunter looks just like the bigger #75004 LEGO Star Wars Z-95 with a nice assortment of pieces. The #30241 LEGO Star Wars Gauntlet is a mini version of the #9525 LEGO Star Wars Pre Vizsla’s Mandalorian Starfighter. This set was originally named incorrectly, so it was later renamed the Gauntlet. Comes with a good assortment of dark-blue LEGO pieces. The#30242 LEGO Star Wars Republic Frigate is a mini version of the #7964 LEGO Star Wars Republic Frigate - not the best mini-set in my opinion, but it has some useful pieces. The #30243 LEGO Star Wars Umbaran MHC(Mobile Heavy Cannon) is a cute little version of the #75013 LEGO Star Wars Umbaran MHC set, with positionable legs.
2013 LEGO Star Wars Polybags
These are 2013 polybags we know about at this point. I’m sure more polybags will be coming out this year, but since we don’t have pictures yet we just have to stay tuned for more info. A lot of LEGO fans collect polybags as they are fun little sets and they don’t take up a lot of space. They are also a cheap way to get minifigures and nice pieces. It sometimes takes a bit of hunting to find them all, but they are usually available at LEGO Stores, theOnline LEGO Shop, and some retailers. They are even given out as freebies at times. Currently the #30250 LEGO Legends of Chima Ewar’s Acro-Fighter is available with your order at the Online LEGO Shop.
Free LEGO® Ewar's Acro-Fighter with a $75 purchase. Offer valid January 1-31 2013 or while supplies last.
LEGO polybags can also be found on eBay, and often in bundles. This is a great way to pick up a whole set of polybags to start your collection. See below some of the current eBay listings:
